This is a sheepskin leather map of the Four Corners of Civilization from The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss. I truly couldn’t get into the books myself (nerd that I am), but I did my due diligence and even adapted the title script from the 10th anniversary special edition of The Name of the Wind to design the words on the scroll. The full piece measures around 2 feet by 3 feet. This is the only leatherwork I’d done besides a belt I made with my grandpa at the family cabin almost a decade before. Definitely a unique and time-consuming process to customize and get right, and strange-smelling to boot, but really satisfying! And I was really happy with myself for adapting from an egregious mistake by including a cute-ass giant squid.
